Professional Bio

Abebe Nigatu has a working career that spans 18 years across various sectors in government at senior leadership levels, academia, and management consultancy in both government and private sectors. He joined NGO sector as the Organizational Effectiveness Director at World Vision International for Ethiopia office in March 2011, and then the People and Culture Director in 2013 at the same office. In January 2016, he moved to the WV Rwanda office as People &Culture Director for World Vision International based in Kigali. He is currently holding the role of People & Culture and Director for WV Rwanda. 

Abebe has extensive experience in leadership, change management, human resource management, and development, and process improvement in Lean Six Sigma methods. He was trained and certified in Lean Six Sigma (Black Belt level) in Process Improvement in World Vision International. As a lead for a process improvement projects in Ethiopia office; he has completed process improvement project in recruitment process which resulted in significant improvement in lead time from 130 days to 41 days. 

Abebe has also done a dissertation for his Ph.D. in Lean/Kaizen in collaboration with Ethiopian Kaizen Institute on ‘The Effect of Kaizen Implementation and Sustainability on performance of the manufacturing sector in Ethiopia’
